Layering up

In March this year, a temperature of 21.8 degrees was recorded. This was officially the hottest March temperature in five years and, on that day, England was hotter than Portugal and Spain.

Fast forward one month to the end of April and, last week, some parts of the country saw snow snow flurries as an arctic blast swept through the U.K.

Of course, living in the U.K., we may raise an eyebrow here and there about the changeable weather but fluctuating temperatures and weather conditions tend to characterise our great British weather. But, when the temperature can fluctuate from one of the hottest in Europe back to snow in a mere matter of days and weeks, it’s also crucial that our mattress can help us to manage our body temperature as we sleep.

At Millbrook Beds, we use layers of natural fillings and high quality processes to bring you the best in sleep luxury. The notion of what is luxurious can often be thought of in isolation to what is most practical, but in this case it’s not. Natural fillings such as wool are not only luxurious in feel, there is no man made fabric that can better manage heat than natural wool.

Without this all important overnight temperature regulation helping our bodies to retain heat in cooler nights and expend with excess heat on hot nights, our brains would have to keep stepping in, i.e. we’d likely keep waking up to add and remove duvets and blankets.

Our Hermitage 2500 mattress is just one mattress from our wide range of luxury mattresses that uses layer upon layer of natural fillings to add to the comfort of your back and spine, and also to add to the comfort of your body as it strives to maintain a comfortable temperature overnight.

Combining layers of cotton, silk, cashmere and lambswool all enveloped by a hand-tufted Egyptian cotton cover, you can find comfortable layers – even beneath your sheets.
